Biography
Jimmy advises company heads and boards, leveraging his 30 years’ experience leading companies grow values in Asia and China, to manage their businesses successfully via the right leadership design and executive appointments.
Before Amrop Jimmy was Vice President of Aleris, Inc. He was their Asia Pacific head leading the company’s growth and strategic initiatives in the region, particularly China. Prior to that he was Global VP, Static Control Business and also VP/GM, Asia Pacific for Noveon, Inc. and a member of their Global Leadership Team that transformed the company and tripled its shareholders value in three years. Earlier Jimmy enjoyed a long and distinguished career at Dow Chemical, including global and Asia Pac business, general management and investment leadership for numerous Dow’s commodity and differentiated businesses.
Jimmy shares with his local and MNC clients what it takes to succeed, or fail, in cross-cultural business and organization management – from market entry, greenfield, JV, M&A, infrastructure/team building or restructuring to top level government relationship and negotiation – covering a myriad of sectors including chemicals, plastics, energies, agriculture, metal, transportation, consumer, retail, electronic and private equity; and spanning across both the private and public sectors.
His deep China, Asia and global exposure, coupled with his broad market and top management experience, allow him to use an advisory approach to help clients and executives make better decisions towards their leadership and career successes.
Jimmy holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Master degree in Management/Technological Economics from the University of Stirling. He attended leadership programs at IMD, INSEAD and the Kelley School of Business. Married with two sons, he enjoys traveling and all racket sports.
