For over 20 years James has specialised in senior level appointments across the European real estate market, having made key hires for private equity firms, hedge funds, institutional fund managers, sovereign wealth funds, investment banks, corporate banks, family offices, surveying firms, accounting firms, FTSE-100 and 250 REITs, private property companies, hotel developers and operating companies. He has built up in-depth market knowledge and an extensive network as well as a very strong track record, including having been responsible for some of the most senior and transformational appointments in the market. A highly strategic operator, James has become a trusted advisor to many of the most senior investors in the market and built a reputation as the go-to-consultant for newly created roles and supporting the launch of new initiatives, including whole team builds and corporate acquisitions. He particularly specialises on roles focused on acquisitions, asset management, loan servicing, structured finance, corporate finance, development and key operational positions. James joined Korn Ferry after spending nine years at a leading financial services boutique, where he built the real estate practice from scratch and was appointed Partner, Head of Real Estate and Co-Head of Private Markets. He has previously worked for two other specialist boutiques that had market leading practices focused on real estate. He started his search career in 2000. James graduated from University College London with a degree in Law (LLB Hons) and from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice with a post-graduate diploma.
