Richard leads our work across Europe in Board search and consulting and he heads our Chief Executive Succession practice in the region. Richard has led the development of our Board effectiveness review offering across EMEA and has personally been involved in 25-30 Board reviews over the last 8 years. In addition Richard has worked with over 50 Boards in the last 5 years supporting them as they tackle the critical topic of CEO succession and is a recognized expert in the subject. He has also worked on a wide range of executive and non-executive search assignments and leadership development projects over the last 15 years. His clients include Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 companies, family owned businesses, major global consulting and private equity firms. Prior to joining Korn Ferry in 2010 Richard was the EMEA head of the Board practice and the leadership consulting practice of Heidrick and Struggles. Prior to joining Heidrick and Struggles in 2002 Mr. Emerton was a managing partner of energy, utilities and infrastructure for Arthur Andersen EMEIA and a member of the executive board of Andersen Business Consulting for the region. Mr. Emerton studied law at Oxford University, where he gained a rowing Blue and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Richard is a Trustee on the Board of DRET, one of the UKs leading Multi Academy Education Trusts.
