Biography
Mr. Topping serves a wide variety of clients across the media, entertainment and sports industries, including traditional and digital, technology, cable and wireless, and business information services; as well as private equity-backed companies within the broader Consumer and Technology Practices. He is a member of the Private Equity Center of Excellence.
He joined Korn Ferry from a global human capital advisory firm, where he was Partner and Global Head of the Media, Entertainment and Sports Practice.
Mr. Topping's work has emphasized general management, digital, finance, revenue and marketing. Working with Boards of Directors and C-Suite executives, he provided human capital advisory services to both private equity portfolio companies and major corporations.
He is the co-author of a number of thought leadership articles, including: Value Creation Through Talent as Content Distribution Consolidates and Professional Motivation Revisited: The Achievement Society for the 21st Century, and Destination Digital Finding and Building the Talent to get there.
Mr. Topping has a BA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from The Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at The University of Virginia.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Topping worked at John Wiley & Sons as VP of Business Development, responsible for the company's successful strategic alliances strategy. A former entrepreneur, he co-founded and led Sprout, a highly regarded Internet-based, on-demand software company serving the publishing industry.
