Tom Clarke is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Dubai office and a member of the global Technology & Services and Digital Officers practices. Tom has widespread experience leading and executing projects within the technology, digital, professional services, and telecommunications sectors across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Within the technology and digital sector, he conducts senior-level searches in the online space (search platforms/e-commerce/media/sharing platforms), and the enterprise software (IOT, big data and analytics, performance monitoring, cyber) and modern storage (SAAS, PAAS, smart and cloud-based solutions) business segments. Tom also executes a number of senior functional searches, mainly CIO, CTO, and CDO mandates across the Gulf Cooperation Council. Most recently, he has worked closely with a number of early-to -mid-stage VC-backed start-ups, assisting them with internationalizing their leadership teams and modernizing and diversifying their current hiring practices. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Tom worked for another executive search firm in London where he worked within the CIO and CTO practice. Here, he focused on senior level functional hires for some of the largest FTSE-listed businesses. This included new evolutionary roles in the technology sector including chief digital officer, chief customer officer, and chief data officer roles.
