Biography
He has a broad understanding of the various funding arrangements, rating methodologies, budgeting, and contribution strategies for group benefit plans, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
Mr. Olson also possesses actuarial health expertise in the areas of pricing, underwriting, and reserving for insurance carriers.
Mr. Olson is an experienced health actuary who has been providing health care consulting services since 2004.
He brings with him a great deal of both public and private sector experience with past and current clients such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), multiple Fortune 500 organizations, hospital systems, and various other clients across multiple industries.
Mr. Olson was also an integral member of a major health insurance carrier's data research initiatives, which was used to help build a wellness program offered to insureds.
Previously, Mr. Olson served as an actuarial consultant for multiple consulting firms, focusing on both employer groups as well as health insurance carriers, which has allowed him to develop industry knowledge from multiple perspectives.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a degree in mathematics, specializing in actuarial science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
