Biography
Louis-Daniel Desjardins leads the firm’s Montreal office and is a key member of the Canadian Financial Services Practice with a focus on asset management. He also leads the firm’s Healthcare Practice efforts in Canada and is a member of the North American Biopharma and Legal, Compliance and Regulatory practices. He focuses on senior-level executive recruitment assignments in North America across a broad range of functions. Since he joined Spencer Stuart, Louis-Daniel has worked on more than 175 of these assignments, aligning talent with key client needs across each organization. Louis-Daniel is a recipient of the firm’s Lou Rieger Quality Award in recognition of his high-quality work on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Louis-Daniel brings to his role 12 years of leadership experience in business development, relationship-building, consulting and asset management.
Prior to entering the executive search industry, Louis-Daniel served for eight years as vice president of GE Asset Management Canada, where he was in charge of business development and managed a variety of institutional client relationships in Eastern Canada from the company’s office in Montréal.
He also has five years of previous financial industry experience in asset management with Mercer Investment Consulting and Caisse de Depot et Placement du Québec. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Louis-Daniel graduated with a law degree from the University of Montréal and has been a member of the Quebec Bar Association since 1998. He also studied mathematics at McGill University and holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Warwick. He speaks French and English.
