Leopoldo (Leo) Cortes is a member of Spencer Stuart's Madrid office and the Technology, Media & Telecommunications and Digital practices and works with clients that are both domestic and European in scope. Leo has led or participated in more than 100 senior leadership assignments, primarily within the telecommunications, media and technology sectors. Leo brings to his client work a breadth of experience related to technological convergence and the kind of talent required to deal with the challenges triggered by this phenomenon. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Leo was with Recoletos Compañía Editorial, a leading Spanish media company that is a subsidiary of Pearson. There, he led the research and development area, a role focused on launching new products and services for the company. He spent three years as editor-in-chief of one of its publications and, during this time, was responsible for the daily run of operations (deadlines, layout, staffing, etc.) and a team of 30 reporting directly to him. He also worked in London for two years as a correspondent covering UK financial markets and a variety of corporate and financial institutions. He has a degree in information sciences from Universidad of Navarra and completed postgraduate studies at IESE, a Spanish business school. Leo speaks Spanish and English.
