Biography
Adam Badenoch is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Melbourne office and a member of the Industrial Practice. His experience in diverse roles across mining, construction, and government, position him as a leader in the mining and metals sector in Asia Pacific. Adam works with clients to formulate company-wide strategy and business planning initiatives, helping them identify and develop new markets, partners, clients, and entry strategies. He leads engagements for senior global executive and non-executives including recent CEO succession engagements for multiple ASX 100 companies and several chair/NED appointments. Earlier in his career, Adam worked with North Limited both in the corporate head office and on secondment to their then-subsidiary, Energy Resources of Australia. He has held senior roles across a variety of industries including heading up strategy for Baulderstone (a subsidiary of the Lend Lease Group) and chief of staff to the Australian minister of energy, minister for natural resources, the minister for primary industries (including mineral resources), and the minister for state development. Adam understands complex commercial, political, and regulatory environments that span most aspects of the mining sector and has been involved in the development and delivery of several of the largest projects in Australia including the Port Botany expansion, the Clem 7 Tunnel, the Adelaide Oval redevelopment, and the Jabiluka Mine development. He also has experience in media, community consultation, and stakeholder engagement.
