Biography
Kirk O. Reese, CCM, has a 27 year professional relationship with private clubs and their management and governance, managing three of the nation’s top 100+ year historic clubs. Kirk served as the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of The Los Angeles Country Club (“LACC”) from 2003-2015. From 1989 to 1994, Kirk was the Clubhouse Manager at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts under David Chag, CCM where he gained major tournament experience managing during of the 1988 U.S. Open and returning for the 1999 Ryder Cup. From 1994 to 1998, Kirk was the Clubhouse Manager at The LACC under James H. Brewer, MCM. Kirk held his first general manager position at Chevy Chase Club (“CCC”) in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Kirk has served CMAA in a number of capacities during the past 27 years, including serving on the board of directors of the National Capital, Southern California and New England chapters. He also has served on a number of CMAA national committees, including most recently the long range planning committee.
Since 2008, Kirk has been a member of the National Club Association’s (“NCA”) board of directors and currently serves as the Association’s immediate past Chairman. In addition to advocating for the private club industry, NCA serves a resource for best practices in governance and compliance. Kirk has also been active in the California State Club Association, lobbying for private club industry concerns, including those specific to California clubs.
Kirk graduated from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. He earned his certified club manager (CCM) designation in 1993 and is a member of the Club Managers Association of America Honor Society.
Kirk is based in Los Angeles and responsible for DCTP’s client relations and leads on executive search and recruiting for all club leadership roles. With more than 27 years in the club industry, he has built a deep network of industry contacts and has the experience and seasoning to identify and match talent based on our clients’ goals and their unique club cultures.
Kirk and his wife, Monique, reside in Los Angeles, California with their three children.
