Biography
Mr. Peterson leads the Firm's efforts in energy (upstream, midstream, downstream, oilfield services and private equity) as well as electric and natural gas utilities within the Natural Resources Sector.
Mr. Peterson brings to the Firm almost two decades of experience in executive search and corporate roles within the energy industry. He conducts a wide variety of senior level assignments, including board of director and C-suite level searches for leading global energy corporations, both public and private. His experience covers all sectors of the energy industry including private equity, exploration and production, pipeline companies, oilfield services, public utilities, merchant energy and refining and marketing companies.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry in 1995, Mr. Peterson was a vice president with a boutique retained search firm in Dallas, where he was responsible for conducting searches in the energy, high technology and consumer products industries. On the entrepreneurial side, Mr. Peterson was a founding partner in a specialty chemical company that reprocessed polymers from rubber and chemical manufacturers.
Mr. Peterson's corporate experience includes increasingly responsible management positions with Hadson Gas Systems, TXO Production Corporation, Bright & Company and Clayton W. Williams, Jr. (now Clayton Williams Energy, Inc.). His responsibilities included business development, exploration, mergers and acquisitions, and supply and marketing.
He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Kansas State University.
