Giovanna Gallì leads Spencer Stuart’s Financial Services Practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and brings more than 20 years of industry experience to her client work. She conducts searches across the industry for senior executive and board positions, with an emphasis on presenting diverse slates of leadership candidates. Giovanna has a deep expertise in the European banking and insurance industries. She advises clients across several geographies, offering a broad range of services spanning executive search, leadership advisory and corporate governance. Throughout her career, Giovanna held numerous leadership roles at GE Capital. During her tenure, she worked with the M&A team in London, focusing on consumer and commercial finance deals mainly in southern Europe. She then became the head of business development for Italy, responsible for all financial divisions across the organization. She led several integration and restructuring processes within the group, with a main emphasis on sales and marketing. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Giovanna worked for Banca Popolare di Milano as the head of pricing, performance management and communication. Giovanna began her career with J.P. Morgan Milan as a financial analyst before transferring to the bank’s derivatives marketing division in London. She has also served as a board member in organizations owned by quoted companies (General Electric Group, Mediobanca Group). Giovanna is a member of Intheboardroom, a program dedicated to providing female senior executives with the skills needed for board service. She holds a degree in economics from Bocconi University in Milan and a master’s degree in international marketing and finance from ESADE (Spain).
