José Luis Barroilhet is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Industrial Practice and previously managed the Santiago office for nearly four years. He leads the Metals & Mining Practice for Latin America and conducts search assignments for a range of general management and functional leadership roles for organizations throughout the region. Since joining Spencer Stuart in 2000, José has specialized primarily in the metals and mining industry, with a strong expertise in building executive teams for mining projects. He also works in the aviation and energy/utility sectors. José has a functional expertise in human resources and corporate affairs roles, and has conducted numerous searches for the government of Chile during the past two administrations. Prior to joining the firm, José served as an industrial engineer with Cade-Idepe (now Amec), one of the largest engineering consulting firms in Chile. A graduate of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s industrial engineering program, José also has a diploma in international relations from Tokyo University. He is fluent in Spanish and English and also speaks Portuguese.
