Evan Markou first joined Korn Ferry in 2006 as a Senior Associate in the Life Sciences Practice, where he conducted executive level searches for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in R&D, Business and Corporate Development, and General Management. Prior to Korn Ferry, he worked in R&D as a pre-formulation chemist and later in business development for two major pharmaceutical companies. While working in the pharmaceutical industry, Evan gained valuable operational experience of the complex drug development process as well as in business development and alliance management. Before rejoining Korn Ferry, Evan was in private practice as a chiropractic physician in New York and Maryland. He had the privilege of treating hundreds of patients suffering from spinal related neck and back pain disorders to where they were left with few to no treatment options, including many patients who had previously undergone surgery. Evan is currently a member of Korn Ferry's prestigious Biotechnology Practice, where his work spans across early/mid clinical stage bio therapeutics companies, molecular informatics and diagnostic companies, healthcare tech enabled service companies and later stage specialty pharmaceutical companies. By virtue of successfully completing various executive level search assignments, including for; President and CEO, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Business Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer; he has worked closely with several venture capital and private equity firms. Evan completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Psychobiology at Binghamton University. He holds a Master's in Business Administration from Adelphi University, and a Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.
