Jan van Gorkum is based in The Netherlands and was hired by Mercuri Urval in 2018 for his extensive experience in retail and business services at board level. As Board & Executive Consultant Jan's primary focus is on professional services, retail, FMCG and special interest organisations. He is a valuable sparring partner for organisations that face the challenge of having the right people capabilities in place so they deliver the best possible results. Previously Jan acted as Managing Director at USG People, Luba and Randstad. Overall P&L responsible with results in business development, change management, restructuring, takeovers and development of employees and management teams. Jan has always been in general management which helps him add value as advisory Board member for companies in wholesale and building management. Coming from a long sports background in baseball and basketball Jan is now paying back the support he received in the past by coaching and his role in the supervisory board of the Dutch Baseball Association. Jan graduated from the Free University of Amsterdam and earned a Master Degree in business economics. He has also attained a university teaching degree.
