Biography
Leveraging his professional experience as a basic science researcher and administrator, Dr. Ward brings an established record of success to a broad range of public, private, and not-for-profit clients across higher education, academic medical institutions, and others undergoing critical leadership transitions.
Josh's work focuses on President/CEO, Provost, VP, Dean, Department Chair, and Clinical Chair/Chief roles. A principal advisor to minority-serving and mission-driven institutions, he contributes to Korn Ferry's thought leadership on diversity, trust, and on forging successful relationships between candidates and institutions during the search process.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Josh served in higher education administration, with director-level and faculty roles in scholar development and undergraduate research. He developed and implemented institution-wide strategic initiatives that expanded educational, research, and international opportunities for students. Josh started his career at Harvard Medical School, focusing on the genetic underpinnings of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disease in the Department of Psychiatry.
Josh holds a doctorate in immunogenetics and a master's degree in applied biological anthropology from the University of Cambridge, where he has served as a Member of the General Board. Originally from Oklahoma, he earned a bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology from Oklahoma State University.
