Biography
Philippe Le Goff leads Spencer Stuart’s Zurich and Geneva offices. He joined the firm in 2000 and focuses on executive and non-executive board assignments in the Healthcare Practice across the globe. Phil formerly led the firm’s global Healthcare Practice for seven years, after managing the Swiss offices for five years. Phil brings to his search work insights gained during 25 years of prior corporate experience in the healthcare sector, where he held senior positions in general management, sales and marketing, and research and development within the pharmaceutical and medical device arenas.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Phil served as group president of vascular and non-vascular businesses at Boston Scientific Corporation in the U.S. Before that, he was head of strategy, business development and public affairs and a member of the global executive committee at Novartis Pharma in Basel, Switzerland.
Phil had previously spent 13 years with Sanofi, where he served in several senior positions, including CEO of Sanofi North America in New York and worldwide president of the bio-industries division in Paris. He began his career with Ciba-Geigy, where he held positions in Switzerland, Brazil and the U.K.
Phil has served on numerous emerging healthcare companies’ corporate boards, as well as boards of several international industry organizations, including the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers' Associations (IFPMA, Geneva), InterPharma (Basel), the Policy Board of The Centre for Medicines Research (London), and EFFA, the European Flavor and Fragrance Association (Geneva).
Phil holds degrees in pharmacy and organic chemistry from the University of Rennes, France; an M.B.A. from Stanford University; and a Ph.D. in healthcare law from the University of Paris.
