Based in Spencer Stuart's Copenhagen office, Michael Vad leads the firms Nordic business, bringing more than 15 years of executive leadership consulting and assessment experience. He specializes in CEO and board assignments in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Consumer and Private Equity practices. Michael also leads Spencer Stuart's Family Business initiative in EMEA. Before joining Spencer Stuart, Michael worked at another global executive search firm, where he served as a member of the executive team, as well as managing partner of global geographies and partner-in-charge for the firm’s Denmark office. Prior to his career in executive search and advisory services, Michael was CEO of the online subsidiary of a leading Nordic media and entertainment group, and investment director at a Scandinavian venture capital firm. He began his career in telecommunications where he held a variety of leadership positions across consumer services, retail and digital with the leading player in the Danish market. Michael earned an executive M.B.A. from Copenhagen Business School-Scandinavian International Management Institute (CBS-SIMI), and a master’s in economics from the Aarhus School of Business at Aarhus University. He also completed the TDC Leadership Development Program at INSEAD’s Europe Campus with honors. Michael is an experienced non-executive director, former vice chair for The Danish Cancer Society, advisory board member for Save the Children Denmark and board member at the Copenhagen International School.
