Chris Nicholson
Senior Client Partner
Biography
Mr. Nicholson began his career working as a field engineer in the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico and Canada with Geoservices, leaving the business after the acquisition of the company by Schlumberger. Further to this he spent two years in London operating in senior technical search, primarily in the international upstream markets with a global recruitment firm. Mr. Nicholson joined Korn Ferry's Energy practice in January 2012. Mr. Nicholson operates across the energy sector across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. His primary function is partnering with companies going through transformation, to align new strategy to talent. He has recently researched a leadership white paper to address; The transition to a lower carbon economy: What does this mean for talent, leadership, and organizational behaviours? He has worked extensively with private equity funds who are investing in the sector, helping to find leaders for portfolio companies at board and executive level. He has published a white paper on the topic of Successful Leadership in a Private Equity Environment. Mr. Nicholson has developed a strong track record working with high growth businesses transforming from founder/owner or VC backed to enter the next phase of growth. Recognizing the challenges that are facing the energy sector are not necessarily going to be solved by energy talent, Chris has shaped a truly sector agnostic practice, taping into adjacent markets that have been through transformation or are more progressed in the adoption of technology and digital. Mr. Nicholson has a bachelor's degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
