Biography
Specializing in complex talent situations, Mr. Deussing consults with high growth public, private and family owned enterprises in the intricacies of succession planning, confidential recruitment, and in-depth assessments of their senior executive teams and boards.
Advising technology, industrial, and services businesses on talent, Mr. Deussing serves as a core member of the firm's Board & CEO Services practice, CFO Center of Excellence, and the CEO Succession Center of Expertise. Mr. Deussing is also certified in the assessment of learning agility viaEDGE™.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Deussing served on the Americas Leadership Team (ALT) and as an Office Managing Partner at Heidrick & Struggles. Mr. Deussing consulted to the Boards, CEOs and leadership teams of private equity sponsored enterprises, rapidly expanding global public companies, and family enterprises in recruiting talent from the industrial and technology sectors.
Mr. Deussing joined the firm following the acquisition by Heidrick & Struggles of IronHill Partners, a national retained executive search firm he founded as a Managing Partner in 2003. IronHill grew into one of the leading technology sector specialist firms throughout North America & Canada, conducting assignments for Board, C-suite and functional leadership in venture capital technology portfolio businesses.
Prior to starting IronHill, Mr. Deussing was a Vice President at HFA International, then ranking as one of the fastest growing boutique retained executive search firms in the United States. Graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Deussing joined Arthur Andersen serving as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both the commercial and enterprise practices of the firm. He is an active community board member and school trustee. Mr. Deussing has been a featured guest on SiriusXM Business Radio, and serves an accredited Governance Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
