Biography
Mark Watt is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Johannesburg office and a member of the Heidrick Consulting Practice. Mark focuses exclusively on leadership consulting and advisory work, servicing all industry sectors, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. He has partnered with private and public clients throughout Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and other international markets, including start-ups, family-owned businesses and global multinationals.
Mark has worked on CEO succession projects, senior executive development programs, top team effectiveness interventions, and executive coaching processes with an emphasis on improving leadership performance and maximizing employee potential. He has defined, designed, and delivered interventions for senior talent and top teams.
Mark is particularly interested in the sustainability of change and behavior aligned to business results and performance and how teams activate and enhance their performance. He believes in accelerating performance at organizational, team, and individual leader level through mobilizing, executing and transforming with agility.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Mark spent several years as a senior associate and associate in the Chief Executive Officer & Board of Directors and Education & Social Enterprise practices in the Sydney office. In these roles he completed CEO, board, and senior education appointments for Australia and New Zealand’s leading public companies, universities, and nonprofit organizations.
Earlier in his career, Mark held various positions with a global Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk and United States-based, global FMCG business, Campbell Soups Inc.
