Biography
Mr. Amer leads Korn Ferry's Legal Center of Expertise in the Western U.S. and is also actively involved in the Firm's Education Practice, performing higher education searches throughout the country. He has developed leadership solutions for Fortune 500 corporations, global law firms, leading educational institutions, as well as start-up and high growth companies in various industries.
Mr. Amer is an attorney who has practiced law in private law firms, the public sector and in industry. Prior to joining Korn Ferry in 2000, he was general counsel to ALSS, Inc., where he established the company's legal department.
His legal background includes experience working with the L.A. City Attorney's Office and the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles. Mr. Amer is a member of the State Bar of California, the Association of Executive Search Consultants and an active life member of the UCLA Alumni Association.
Mr. Amer is a former chairman of the advisory board of the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel. He has also published articles in Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine, for which he served as a member of the editorial board for five years. He has also been a contributor as well as articles editor for the Loyola Entertainment Law Journal.
Mr. Amer is a member of the executive committee of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice Southern California 50 Leadership Council, an invitation-only group of thought leaders in the legal profession convened to discuss and debate the top law and policy issues.
He earned a juris doctorate from Loyola Law School and a bachelor's in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
