Biography
Mr. Wenzel is a seasoned coach to top executives, facilitator of leadership courses, and well versed in working with managers and their teams, in particular when these have to navigate challenging situations such as complex change or disruptive dynamics from within the team. Recently he has worked with clients from industries such as telecom and pharma.
Additionally, Mr. Wenzel helps organizations to improve their talent management systems through enhancing recruiting practices or developing career pathing solutions. Lately, clients have come from the media and high-tech sector.
Mr. Wenzel joined Korn Ferry through a merger with Hay Group where he held the position of Head of Management Diagnostics for its German speaking territories. Previously he worked at Lee Hecht Harrison where he headed the German leadership consulting practice and was member of the German management team. Before that he worked for a German boutique consulting firm in executive search.
His main areas of expertise are in top management assessments and leadership development, executive coaching, team coaching, psychometrics and competency modelling. He also headed the German Assessment & Succession solutions area for several years.
Mr. Wenzel performs as speaker at conferences and publishes regularly, most recently in form of a book chapter on executive assessments.
Mr. Wenzel holds a BSc (Hons), first-class in Psychology from the Open University/UK, and a Doctor of Management (DMan) in Organizational Change which he obtained from the Complexity and Management Centre at the University of Hertfordshire/UK. He is a member of the British Psychological Society and has a BPS Certificate of Competency in Occupational Testing Level A and Level B. Additionally, he has undergone advanced training as a group psychotherapist.
He's fluent in German and in English.
